Preparing the Actor II (Acting Technique, 4 days)
Tuition: $200 Dates: June 27th-30th - 10:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. Location: In person* Performance: Presentation during the last 30 minutes of class, June 30th. Instructor: Indeah Harris Description: This mini-camp will focus on various acting techniques, improv, character development, and monologue and scene study. This will be a wonderful opportunity to continue to develop you/your student’s theatre skills as an actor. *COVID-19 SAFETY NOTE: At this time, we are anticipating that we will be able to meet in person, safely. Location: In person* Dates: July 25th-29th / August 1st-5th/ 8th-12th - 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. Performances: August 12th, 13th, 19th, 20th at 7:00 p.m. August 13th & 20th at 2:00 p.m. Instructors: Debbie Armstrong - Director TBD - Music Director Heather Malroy - Choreographer Description: Set in turn-of-the century New York City, Newsies is the rousing tale of Jack Kelly, a charismatic newsboy and leader of a band of teenaged "newsies." When titans of publishing raise distribution prices at the newsboys’ expense, Jack rallies newsies from across the city to strike against the unfair conditions and fight for what's right! Based on the 1992 motion picture and inspired by a true story, Newsies features a Tony Award-winning score by Alan Menken (Little Shop of Horrors, Sister Act) and Jack Feldman and a book by Tony Award winner Harvey Fierstein (Kinky Boots).
