Set Design and Scenic Painting Tuition: $70 Location: In person* Instructor: TBA Description: Students will be introduced to the elements of theatrical set design and set painting, and will learn the process and skills involved in designing sets from concept to construction. They will have the chance to design a set for one scene of a play. |

Lights and Sound: Beginning Technical Theatre Tuition: $70 Location: In person* Instructor: TBA Description: This introductory seminar will familiarize students to the beginning concepts of theatrical lighting and sound. They will start the day with learning about the foundation of sound including the diversity of mics and their functions, exploring the steps taken to produce a quality sound from the soundboard to the audience’s ears, as well as diving into proper techniques for cabling. Afterwards, they will gain an understanding of the variety of fixtures found in the ‘grid’, proper focusing techniques, as well as seeing the execution of color theory on stage. |

Thursday, April 7th or April 14th:
Special Effects Makeup Tuition: $70, plus a $50 fee for make-up kit Location: In person* Instructor: Tim Peirson Description: The day will start with base stage make-up and some lessons on highlighting and shadowing. Then, a scars and wounds lesson where the student creates a plausible backstory for their wound, ending in a solo character creation exercise where they create their own character from scratch, draw up a make-up design, and the student and instructor work together to implement it on their face. Students will take their own personal make-up kit home with them. |

Friday, April 8th or April 15th:
Dance For Auditions Tuition: $70 Location: In person* Instructor: Heather Malroy Description: Learn and polish the basic moves needed in most dance auditions for musical theatre productions, along with the general terms needed to understand the choreographer. Steps and movement in such styles as basic ballet, tap, lyric, and jazz will be addressed, and the day will culminate in a mock dance audition. |
