Accents and Character Voices
Grades 6th-12th and Adults Ages 18+ (1 week, evenings) Tuition: $125 Dates: Monday-Friday, March 29th-April 2nd - 7:00 p.m.–9:00 p.m. Location: Online* Instructor: Rebecca Rodgers Description: Looking for a super fun way to build your accent and character voices toolkit? This is the class for you! We will delve into the complex and often hilarious world of regional dialects, a wide variety of accents, and original character voices. We’ll explore vocal expression, placement, and oral posture as we study and experiment with new characters. In this series we’ll implement our accents and voices using monologues, short scripted scenes, and improvisation. We will touch on regional dialects of the U.S. (Brooklyn, Boston, Midwest, Southern, etc), some common accents from around the world (RP British, Irish, French, Russian, Spanish, etc.), and play with our own unique voices. Audition Workshop
Grades 6th-12th and Adults Ages 18+ (1week, evenings) Tuition: $125 Dates: Monday-Friday, May 3rd-7th - 7:00 p.m.–9:00 p.m. Location: Online* Instructor: Jennifer Rivers Description: Our Audition Workshop will cover the entire Audition process for a theatrical production, from choosing a monologue, signing up for generals, what to do in an audition, what happens in call-backs, to getting cast. Basic Music Theory - How To Read Sheet Music For Actors
Grades 6th-12th and Adults Ages 18+ (1week, evenings) Tuition: $100 Dates: Monday-Friday, May 17th-21st - 7:00 p.m.–8:30 p.m. Location: Online* Instructor: Abigail Shedd Description: This course will introduce the basics of music theory by applying these elements to musical theatre scores. Reading and notating music, key signatures, vocal scoring, and sight singing are some topics that will be covered. Recommended for actors with no previous formal music training, or actors that need a refresher on how to read music. COVID-19 SAFETY NOTE: This camp will be an online class in video chat form. |
