Theatrical Hair Design
Grades 6th-12th and Adults Ages 18+ (1week, evenings) Tuition: $125, plus a $30 fee for wig and tools kit* Dates: Monday-Friday, February 22nd-26th - 7:00 p.m.–9:00 p.m. Location: Online* Instructor: Will Moray Description: Many community theatres do not have a hair and makeup team, let alone a consultant to guide actors through getting ready for opening night. Costumers and actors have been left to muddle through getting a look that might be close. This course will give you a good start to looking the part while on the road to your next role. In this course you will be learning some period appropriate hair styles that range from the 1920 thru the 1980. We will be showing you how to achieve some of those iconic looks. You will also be learning about what products and tools work best, and where to find resources to achieve that stunning look. To round off the course we want to give you that push that gives you a leg up on some of your peers. We are going to have fun with wigs. That's right, don't WIG out... This lesson will go over the basics on how to wear a wig. We will be guiding you on how to style and wear a wig that looks natural, or one you can use for a show, a party, or maybe even cosplay. Take the time to invest in YOU. You're worth it. *Class supplies will be available for pick up by appointment only at Lakewood Playhouse the week prior to the first day of class. If shipping is preferred, please contact LIT. An additional fee will be requested to cover shipping costs. COVID-19 SAFETY NOTE: This workshop will be an online class in video chat form. |
