Beginning Stage Management
Grades 7th-12th and Adults Ages 18+ (1 week, evenings)   

Tuition: $125, plus a $30 fee for beginning SM kit

Dates:  Monday-Friday, April 12th-16th - 7:00 p.m.–9:00 p.m.

Description: This workshop is for students who would like to learn about Professional Stage Management. In this class, students will learn what it takes to put on theatrical production from Pre-Production through Strike. Topics will include the duties, responsibilities, and procedures of a Stage Manager, such as:
  • Running meetings and rehearsals
  • Script analysis
  • Creating pre-production and production paperwork
  • Writing rehearsal and performance reports
  • Wrangling actors and crew
  • Recording blocking and writing cues
  • The art of calling a show
All students will receive their "Beginners SM Kit" which will contain items that every SM should have for rehearsals and performances.

*Class supplies will be available for pick up by appointment only at Lakewood Playhouse the week prior to the first day of class. If shipping is preferred, please contact LIT. An additional fee will be requested to cover shipping costs.
